Balancing of Chakras

About Me

Hi my name is Caroline, and I live in Tamworth, Staffordshire. For the past 32 years I have worked for the NHS as a Healthcare Assistant, the last 25 years of those as a Maternity Assistant .A few years ago, I completed my training in Advanced Reflexology after having practised for over 20 years with family and friends applying the guidance of my late mother who was a "Reflexologist" herself. This inspired me to qualify in this field so that I could become a professional Reflexologist and benefit a wider clientele. This has given me the opportunity to expand my practical experience and thus benefit others from what I believe is a truly beneficial therapy for those receiving it.

Just recently, I completed a Reiki 2 and Crystal and Chakra healing course. I have discovered that these therapies complement each other when used together. Upon receiving these treatments, whether together or separately, the "therapist" is helping your body to heal itself as opposed to the therapist "healing you".

Reflexology

reflexology

Every part of both our feet and hands hold the reflexes to the whole body. In simple terms, your feet and hands are a map of your entire body! (there are over 7,000 nerve endings in your feet!).

During a reflexology session, you are using a series of pressure/massage techniques (using fingers, thumbs and the palms of your hands) to stimulate specific reflex areas, thus freeing the energy flowing throughout the Zones of the body. These zones are linked to the organs and structures of the body and can be blocked or imbalanced. Where there is inhibited functioning or disease, as a Reflexologist, you can sometimes feel the congestion in the form of deposits that have not been cleared away by the venous circulation and the lymph. By working on these "gritty" areas, you are assisting in the removal of these toxins that are causing those blockages. This will improve circulation, which in return will carry away the broken waste products from the body, allowing the body to heal itself and help prevent further illnesses and diseases. A Simple way of understanding this is to imagine a blocked drain and the issues that can cause if it's not cleared!

Reiki

reiki

Like Reflexology, Reiki is a non intrusive, complementary therapy. The therapist can channel energy into the client, which flows naturally through their hands, to the areas where it is needed the most. This technique can be performed either hands on, hands off or even distantly. This activates the "natural healing" processes of the body, which in turn will restore the physical and emotional well being of the recipient.

During a session, I will be re-balancing the chakras. Chakras are an integrated system of energy centres, the main 7 run from the base of your spine to your head. When imbalanced this can affect your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, as each of these chakras are linked to different systems within the physical body.

Benefits

It can:

  • Give total relaxation: It can help to slow down your heart rate, lower blood pressure, slow your breathing rate, encourage deep breathing, reduce stress and relieve depression.

  • Detoxify and eliminate toxins: This helps you in several different ways - boosting energy, strengthening the immune system, anti-ageing and improving the sense of well being.

  • Promote balancing: Whatever health issues you are having, it can help to balance you emotionally enabling you to manage it more effectively.

  • Improve nerve conduction: Reflexology itself stimulates over 7,000 nerve endings in the feet and encourages the opening and clearing of neural pathways. It interrupts pain pathways and helps to reduce pain.

  • Promote psychological well-being: When stressed our bodies become more susceptible to illness and disease. It can help to reduce stress and can provide total relaxation.

  • Improve circulation of blood and energy: Free flow of blood to the entire body is required and essential to transport oxygen and nutrients to the cells as well as removing metabolic wastes and toxins.

  • Improve immune role: Reflexology stimulates the lymphatic system, which helps us fight infections. It helps remove toxins which increase our immune system's effectiveness.

  • Promote a well-balanced mind, body, and spirit: Health isn’t merely the absence of disease or symptoms; it is a state of optimal well being, vitality, and wholeness. Complementary therapy’s holistic approach helps to balance our mind, body and spirit so that self healing can take place.

Side Effects

Most people experience deep relaxation, tranquillity and serenity, some even fall asleep! Some people however may experience fatigue, especially in the case of those who have a lot of toxins to release from their body. Cleansing out the system can be exhausting and you may feel very tired following a treatment, the desire to urinate more frequently, or have more frequent bowel movements. Other symptoms may be a headache, coldness, nausea, sinus congestion or feeling very emotional. These reactions should only last for 24-48 hours and it is a good sign as it means that the treatment is working! I would encourage you to drink plenty of water following the treatment and to allow yourself time to rest, as this helps your body to release the toxins at a faster pace.

Limitations

Although these therapies are harmless, and a non-invasive treatment, there may be some cases such as, if you are undergoing any kind of cancer therapy (such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy) or if you are pregnant, where I would not be able to treat you as it requires a practitioner that has specialised in these areas. If you suffer from a heart problem, or any other serious medical condition, I would advise that you check with your G.P prior to having this therapy session.

What should I expect?

Prior to your booking, I will have a consultation with you by telephone. This is to take a brief medical history, and to discuss any concerns you may have yourself regarding the treatment and explaining the treatment in more depth if required. Following this consultation there is no obligation to commence treatment. Alternatively you can email any inquiries to me. Treatments generally take approximately an hour but can sometimes be a little longer.
